Practical Notes
- Getting there. All visitors fly into Papeete (PPT) on Tahiti, then take a 50-minute Air Tahiti flight to Bora Bora (BOB). The inter-island flight adds cost — factor it into your total budget.
- Best time to visit. May through October is dry season — less humidity, lower chance of rain, best visibility for snorkelling and diving. November through April is wetter but still warm.
- Transfers. All resorts use boat transfers from Bora Bora airport. The airport is on a motu outside the main island — all guests arrive by boat, which is a scenic introduction to the lagoon.
- Book well ahead. Bora Bora is a bucket-list destination — the best overwater bungalows at peak resorts book 6-12 months ahead. For a honeymoon, book as soon as possible.
